Posted: 13.02.09  |  Created by: Do Something

Paper was invented thousands of years ago. It’s an outdated technology for many of today’s business processes. Paper costs businesses time and money and it damages the planet. Yet we still use incredible quantities of it.

Did you know…we use staggering amounts of paper every year?

  • 1.717 million tonnes of writing and printing paper are used in Australia every year. (1)
  • 1.1 million tonnes of this is imported - imagine the greenhouse impact! (1)
  • the average Australian employee uses 10,000 sheets of A4 paper. (2)
  • we use it for letters, bills, forms, direct mail, leaflets, contracts, internal copying and many other business-related documents.
  • almost all of it could be done electronically.
